Michel is a member of the Tactical Asset Allocation research team at the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) in the United Kingdom. In this role, Michel contributes to the formation of BII’s tactical investment views using the team’s macroeconomic projections and portfolio construction framework. He also helps develop the core infrastructure to support BII’s tactical portfolio construction process.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Michel was an economist at Morgan Stanley, where he tracked and forecasted U.S. economic indicators – with a focus on near-term inflation dynamics – and contributed to longer-term thematic economic research. Michel began his career as an economist and equity researcher at Nomura Securities in New York.

Michel holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Economics from New York University and a MSc in Applied Social Data Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
